奧斯卡獲獎作曲家蓋布瑞．雅德（Gabriel Yared）是電影界最受尊敬的作曲家之一。雅德藉由安東尼．明格拉（Anthony Minghella）的電影《英倫情人》（The English Patient）配樂榮獲了奧斯卡獎，這部配樂也為他贏得了英國電影學院獎、金球獎和葛萊美獎。雅德最初以法國電影配樂而聞名，如《巴黎野玫瑰》和《情人》還有知名的電影《天才雷普利》、《愛在我心深處》、《羅丹與卡蜜兒》、《特洛伊：木馬屠城》、《X情人》與《香奈兒的祕密》等配樂。這張專輯是比利時根特國際影展向這位作曲家的作品致敬的最新錄音版本。

根特國際影展（Ghent International Film Festival），1974年創立於歐洲的國際電影節，以比利時城市根特命名，每年10月和「世界電影原聲學會獎」一同頒獎。
